Garrett Smelker is a licensed professional land surveyor in nine states (TX, NM, OK, CO, AZ, UT, NV, ID, WY). After earning a degree in Surveying Engineering from New Mexico State University and taking over twenty-four hours in Civil Engineering Technology courses, he became a licensed land surveyor at twenty-three.

Prior to becoming licensed he operated a small land surveying business, LandCraft LLC, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Shortly after obtaining licensure in New Mexico he moved to Fort Worth, Texas and began his role at Transglobal Services, LLC as a Professional Surveyor. In his two years at Transglobal he was promoted to the RPLS/QAQC Department. In March of 2021 he started American Meridian, LLC to service the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, now located in Arlington, Texas.
